Restyled Pizzato Safety Switch Ranges available from LED Controls
Pizzato Elettrica has introduced a significant update to its popular FR Series, FM Series, FK Series and FX Series safety switch ranges. Now available from LED Controls, these ranges bring together improved durability, simplified installation and a refreshed modern design.
The updated ranges maintain the reliability and performance expected from Pizzato products, while introducing a number of practical improvements for panel builders, machine manufacturers and industrial maintenance engineers.
Updated Housing Design
The new switches feature smoother, rounded lines and are not just grey, they're ANTHRACITE grey. That may sound like something they mine in Wakanda, but this isn't just an aesthetic overhaul - the redesign also improves robustness and usability for all your demanding industrial environments. Here's how:
Faster and Easier Wiring
The FR, FM, FK and FX ranges now feature a hinged cover design with captive screws and integrated gaskets. This provides several installation advantages:
- Faster access during wiring
- Reduced risk of losing screws during installation
- Easier maintenance access
- Improved sealing performance
On thermoplastic models, the hinged cover remains attached to the body when opened, making installation considerably more practical in confined spaces. The revised single captive screw arrangement also helps speed up assembly and servicing.
Improved IP Protection Ratings
Pizzato has upgraded the ingress protection rating on actuators without an external rubber hood from IP67 to IP69K, meaning improved protection against:
- High-pressure washdown
- Water ingress
- Dust contamination
- Harsh industrial environments
This means Pizzato switches are even more prepared for food processing, packaging machinery and demanding outdoor applications.
New Adjustable Lever System
The updated swivelling lever design introduces greater installation flexibility while maintaining the positive geometric locking required for safety applications. Key improvements include:
- 1 mm incremental position adjustment
- Additional radial adjustment capability
- Improved final alignment flexibility
- Retained safety performance characteristics
Pizzato also offers stainless steel lever options for corrosive or washdown environments.
Stronger Mounting Arrangement
All technopolymer housing versions are now equipped with reinforced metal fixing plates around the mounting holes. These zinc-plated steel inserts give you:
- More secure mounting
- Better resistance to overtightening
- Improved long-term durability
- Enhanced mechanical stability
Stainless steel fixing plates are also available on request for corrosive applications.
Standard M20 Thread on FK Series
The FK Series now includes a standard M20 threaded entry, enabling compatibility with:
- M12 4-pole connectors
- Plastic cable glands
- Metal cable glands
The larger cable entry size simplifies wiring and improves cable management during installation.
Laser Engraving for Long-Term Identification
Pizzato has also replaced traditional labels with permanent laser engraving across the updated ranges. This means:
- Improved resistance to wear and cleaning chemicals
- Long-term readability
- No risk of label detachment
- Better suitability for harsh industrial environments
