All of its power components are housed in one compact, robust unit; a single terminal box efficiently contains both the control unit, and all the drive’s wiring, effectively freeing up space elsewhere.

It utilises an IP66 / Type 4X outdoor enclosure, enabling the drive to be deployed even in harsh outdoor environments. That means there’s no need for cabinets, shielded cabling or dedicated electrical rooms, making the VACON 100 X an excellent solution for retrofitting, rooftop applications, or any application that might involve machinery being subjected to regular washdowns.

As a motor mountable drive that’s also suitable for wall-mounting, the VACON 100 X can be placed either onto the motor in question, or as close to it as possible. The itself uses harmonic filtering chokes, and cooling ribs on the front enable it to be efficiently cooled without collecting dust. These provide full access to the heatsink, and can be cleaned with pressurised water.
