As Gaffey expanded globally, their engineering team recognised the need to bring all software development in-house. Their existing solutions relied on proprietary hardware and external programming, which limited agility. Gaffey needed:

After reviewing Gaffey’s technical requirements, our own Sales Manager Ainsley Sawicz recommended the Unitronics UniStream US5-B5-RA28 - a powerful all-in-one controller combining PLC logic, high-speed I/O, a vibrant HMI, and rich communication capabilities.

Using UniLogic®, Gaffey engineers developed their proprietary Adaptive Response Technology (ART) - a smart control architecture that now drives their Hyprolyser® and chloriDOS® product lines. ART dynamically adjusts to changing environmental conditions to ensure consistent, safe water disinfection, without the need for human intervention.

Seamless Automation and Remote Access

The UniStream PLC acts as the system’s brain, regulating temperature, flow, pressure, and chemical levels in real time. MQTT integration supports continuous data exchange with Gaffey’s IoT platform, while VNC and Modbus enable remote access, diagnostics, and software updates. The Hyprolyser is more reliable, safer, cheaper and easier to use than most old-school methods, resulting in a chlorination system that is changing the water treatment game for the better.
