A New Wave of Electrification
Operating in Danish waters, the Nerthus is the latest in a growing line of electric ferries, but it brings something special to the table: Unlike many hybrids, Nerthus runs 100% on electric battery power during standard operation, with a biofuel backup generator for added range and peace of mind.
At the core of this innovative setup is the Danfoss iC7-Marine drive system, an engineered-to-order solution designed specifically for the demands of marine environments. It offers powerful, responsive control for propulsion, helping reduce emissions, noise, and fuel costs all while keeping performance smooth and efficient.
