Frequently Asked Questions
Choose GA500 for compact general-purpose duties where space is tight. Choose GA700 for a wider power range, more I/O and advanced control features for demanding industrial applications.
Yes. Both families handle standard induction motors and many models support permanent-magnet motors. Selected variants also support synchronous reluctance control. Check your exact motor type and frame rating with us before ordering.
Selected GA500 ratings accept single-phase 200–240 V input. Other frames require three-phase supply. Tell us your supply voltage and kW so we can confirm the correct part number.
Some frames include an internal filter, others require an external EMC filter to meet site or standard limits. Compliance depends on cable length, enclosure, earthing and installation practice. We will specify the correct C-category filter.
If the frame has an internal brake transistor, connect a resistor sized to your inertia and duty. Larger frames may need an external chopper. Share load data and stop time and we’ll recommend a resistor or regenerative option.
STO is available on many models or via options. It disables drive output when correctly wired and tested. Always check the safety ratings for the exact part number and follow your risk assessment.
In many cases yes. GA500 covers a broad rating range with modern features and footprint-friendly frames. We’ll cross-reference your legacy part and advise on filters, parameters and mounting.
Typical options include Modbus variants, CAN-based networks and Ethernet protocols such as EtherNet/IP or PROFINET. Use a matching option card and firmware where required. Tell us your PLC platform and we’ll confirm the kit.
Most panels run comfortably up to 40 °C. Many frames allow operation up to 50 °C with derating and correct enclosure ventilation. Check the manual for the exact frame.
Use the keypad parameter copy function or PC/mobile tools where available. We can supply the keypad and cables and provide a starter parameter set for your duty.
